James Edward Mataraza

 R.I.P. January 19, 2005

Jimmy's untimely passing shocked us all.  Jim was a good person, good friend, good father to his loving step-children, and a good fireman.

I met Jim after he got on the fire department.  We developed a friendship through the job and on the golf course.  We have been assigned the same shift for a good while.  He was always trying to improve his game.  He could hit the golf ball a long way, but there were times he needed help with his direction!

Jim was a proud person.  He was proud of his Italian heritage.  He was proud of his wife and children.  He was proud of his profession.  He worked hard at being the best he could be in each of these areas.

Jim's family and friends will miss him.
